Saint Kateri the Lily of the Mohawks Rosary
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha also known as the Lily of the Mohawks
We tried to use natural materials that were similar to what the Native Americans would have had access to. Horn amber in red, amber, and natural colors, and wampum shells that were often used for trade and was even adopted as an official form of currency by Early American colonists for a short time.
We also used looped chain to attach the decades to the center piece in honor of Saint Kateri’s braided hair.
And finally, to finish it off we used a log style crucifix.
